It is a rare neurological disorder, characterized by different symptoms, including facial paralysis and a rash on the ear or mouth. Ramsey Hunt syndrome is caused by the varicella zoster virus, which causes, as its name suggests, chicken pox and shingles. It can develop during a period of stress or reduced immune defenses.
This syndrome is estimated to affect 5 in every 100,000 people in the United States. Treatment for Ramsey Hunt syndrome involves taking antiviral and anti-inflammatory medications, as well as facial exercises to rehabilitate the face. Healing can take several months.
Forced to cancel his tour due to his illness, Justin Bieber also had to speak publicly to apologize to his disappointed fans. “So for those who are frustrated with the cancellations of my upcoming shows, I’m just not physically able to do them.
