At Senegalit’s a totally unexpected twist. “ The results of the autopsy (…) revealed several elements which are likely to attest that the death was not natural », Indicates the press release published by the public prosecutor regarding the former Minister of Finance Moustapha Ba, who died in Paris on November 4.

His burial which was to take place on Sunday November 10 is therefore “ postponed ”, while additional investigations are carried out. The family of the deceased is not at the origin of this request for an autopsy. The prosecutor took charge of this matter, as the law authorizes.

In a first press release published on Saturday, Ibrahima Ndoye, had in fact reported “information (received) on the circumstances of the death » to justify this request for an autopsy. That’s all we know at the moment. At midday, the prosecutor was to meet with lawyers for the deceased’s family to inform them of the outcome of the case.

The family of former minister Moustapha Ba, Minister of Finance in the government before the March presidential election, remains “ convinced of natural death » of the politician, according to one of his lawyers, lawyer Elhadj Moustapha Diouf contacted by RFI. The lawyer is surprised by the prosecutor’s approach. And in particular because “ in France, the death certificate did not reveal anything abnormal “.
