Justice, AIGA: extend the procedures for carrying out the state exam for the 2025 session

(Finance) – TheItalian Association of Young Lawyers (AIGA) has sent a proposal for an amendment to all parliamentary forces Decree A thousand extensionsrecently approved by the Council of Ministers, to extend the transitional regime of the procedures for carrying out the qualification exam for the legal profession also for the year 2025, confirming those adopted for the 2023 and 2024 sessions.

“AIGA expresses the concern of thousands of young trainee lawyers, who currently have no certainty about the exam methods”, he states Carlo Foglienipresident of AIGA. “The request is to extend the entry into force of the methods established by Law 247/12, thus promoting continuity with the procedures current. It is evident in fact that, despite the numerous extensions and legislative changes that have occurred over time, the current regulation of the qualification exam provided for by Law 247/2012 is outdated and does not respond to the preparation needs of aspiring lawyers: the mandatory introduction of the Schools forensics and the adoption of emergency examination methods in recent years have contributed to outlining a more complex and diversified regulatory and training framework”.

There proposal of the AIGA aims to guarantee greater coherence and continuity in the qualification process, reducing uncertainties for candidates and maintaining the special method of carrying out the exam which provides for a trial written (judicial act) and a Oral three-phase, already successfully tested in the 2023-24 session.

“The extension of regime transitory it is a necessary step to guarantee a fairer and more appropriate examination for the times”, concludes Foglieni. “But we are waiting for the adoption of a regulatory change that provides for the adaptation, updating and optimization of the discipline regarding the qualification exam, finally offering young trainee lawyers a clear and well-defined qualification path, in line with the current needs of forensic training”.
