Can you introduce yourself?

My name is Zoé Tondut, I’m 21 years old and I’ve been creating content on almost all social networks for seven years now. And it’s been two and a half years since it became my full-time job.

Why did you agree to become the face of Superdry’s summer 2022 campaign?

I have known the brand for a long time, my close entourage often wore pieces from the Superdry collections, without me necessarily being a customer. It was when the label’s teams presented me with the ecological approach they wanted to take that I started to take a greater interest in their clothes. Especially since their creations are beautiful and they undertake eco-responsible actions. I liked their approach and I felt the urge to convey their message to my community.

Whatdo you like the most about the brand?

The way she always renews herself. It is a world famous brand that could stay on its achievements. However, she listens to her clientele, on the lookout for new trends and she keeps her commitments. As an influencer, it’s more interesting to work with a brand that has this vision, rather than with a label that doesn’t want to evolve.

How would you describe the new collection?

She is colorful and comfortable. The pieces are stylish, while remaining basic and easy to wear on a daily basis, which ensures a silhouette effortless but assertive.

What are your favorite pieces?

As soon as I tried it on during the shoot, I fell in love with it. white cargo jeans. He is comfortable and fit really well. The linen shirts are also very pretty, they are essential basics to have in your wardrobe for the summer and the quality is crazy!

And the essentials for going on vacation this summer?

I slipped the T-shirts from the collection into my suitcase: they are simple and colorful, perfect for adapting to different styles. I like that they are oversized, I always wear them one size larger than mine. Superimposed on my swimsuit or accompanied by shorts, they promise a very surfer style silhouette summer vibes.

VSwhat is the most important thing for you when choosing a garment?

For me, it’s quality. If I touch the fabric and the material does not inspire confidence in me, that I have the impression that it will deteriorate in a few washes, I do not buy, even if I love the garment. I want to be able to wear a piece several times.

What place do you give to eco-responsibility in your wardrobe?

I’m not perfect in every way, but I’m learning as I grow. For two years, I have banished the maximum fast fashion of my closet and I favor the second hand. I don’t want to participate in the poor working conditions and pollution that hide behind fast fashion brands. And then with these brands, everyone wears the same clothes, so to stand out, I hunt in thrift stores or on Vinted, there are real nuggets.

Since when have youinterested in this issue?

Before, I didn’t ask myself any questions when I bought a garment. But, since the confinement and the denunciation of the brands that exploit the Uyghurs, I became aware of the situation and I really took an interest. I also grew up and left high school, now it’s up to me to buy my own clothes, which made me want to know more about where they came from. Today, I want to learn as much as I can to inform my community in turn.

What do you think of the efforts made by brands to become more responsible?

What a positive! Brands are taking new initiatives and are more attentive to the needs of customers regarding their desire for transparency. They are getting up to date and making efforts for the planet. That’s what I love about Superdry. The brand really wants to improve its production method and the results are visible. However, we still have to differentiate brands that want to give themselves a good image from those that really want to do well and change their way of producing.

In January, you organized your own wardrobe sale. Do you also regularly consume second-hand?

I work mainly in periods. For example, I take advantage of the arrival of summer to fill my wardrobe with basics found in thrift stores or on Vinted. Now, I no longer shop out of boredom, but rather when I need to, an approach that allows me to avoid overconsumption. And what I love about second-hand is that they are original, vintage pieces that you can’t find anywhere else.

Can you share your eco-responsible and stylish tips with us?

Always take a tote bag on you! It is an essential during shopping trips which allows you to reduce your consumption of plastic bags. I also recommend clothing rental showrooms, especially for special occasions. This is the opportunity to access beautiful pieces for an evening, without cluttering up your dressing room with clothes that you would only wear once. Personally, I adopted this concept twice, like during the Cannes festival and I intend to repeat the experience!

What’s the best fashion advicehavegave?

It is to invest in the basics. A simple white T-shirt or a black blazer are perfect for creating a chic look that can be twisted with an original piece to stand out. It’s all about assembly, really.

And the one you would like to give to our readers?

Dare everything! And above all, do not hold back for fear of the gaze of others. With this energy, we return a good attitude to the people around us.
