Just in Baarn and back to the war: Tamara from Ukraine visits her refugee mother

Just in Baarn and back to the war Tamara from

While she is talking, in her mother’s room in Baarn, the monthly test alarm sounds outside. It doesn’t affect her much, at most a short physical reaction, she says. She calmly continues to tell how her mother came to rest in the Netherlands with two host families, how she is now waiting in the reception center until the war is over. Olena teaches cooking classes and does other volunteer work. She doesn’t speak English, but is very handy with a translation app on her phone. Sometimes something goes wrong in the translation and that is mainly a reason to laugh out loud. She has a good life here and is surrounded by friendly people, says Olena herself, but she often worries about her children and her friends in Ukraine.
