DEATH OF JULIAN SANDS. The body of the British actor of “Room with a view” has been found and identified, six months after his disappearance. He was 65 years old.
Six months after his disappearance, the body of Julian Sands was found and formally identified this Tuesday, June 27. The British actor, known for starring in Room with views of James Ivory, is therefore officially deceased at the age of 65. Julian Sands had not given any news since he went hiking on Mount San Antonio, California, on January 13, 2023.
On Sunday June 25, local authorities announced that human remains had been discovered by walkers near where Julian Sands was reported missing, on the highest peak of the mountain range, on a particularly dangerous route. According to information from TMZ, the causes of death of Julian Sands have not yet been established. However, it was reported that the weather conditions were bad when the British actor went on the hike.
Julian Sands was a British actor born on January 4, 1958 in Otley. After studying drama at the Central School of Speech and Drama, he obtained his first major roles in films The tearing (1983) and Room with a view by James Ivory (1984). It is this last film that allows him to obtain the recognition of his peers and the general public. Subsequently, we could see it in feature films Warlock (1989), Arachnophobia (1990), The Naked Feast (1991) or even Leaving Las Vegas (1995). Julian Sands is also the Phantom of the Opera in Dario Argento’s 1998 version.
In the 2000s, it was particularly on the small screen that he distinguished himself, obtaining regular roles in the series Stargate SG-1 (2005) or in season 5 of 24 stopwatch hours (2006). He is also Jor-El in the series Smallville (2009 to 2010). He does not neglect the cinema, however, since he appears in supporting roles in Ocean’s Thirteen in 2007 and Millennium: Men Who Didn’t Like Women in 2011. Julian Sands has been missing following a hike north of Los Angeles since January 13, 2023.
