Julia Garner, 28, can be seen as a scammer in the Netflix series “Inventing Anna” and is said to have been given the role in fierce competition with names such as Florence Pugh, Alexa Demie, Odessa Young, Bebe Rexha and Sky Ferreira.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the candidates had to go through a demanding selection process that included a “Madonna bootcamp” with eleven hours of training sessions under the guidance of Madonna’s choreographer and the music icon herself.
The film, produced by Universal Pictures, will follow the star’s early life and path to fame.
In a statement, Madonna says that she hopes that the film will “convey the incredible journey that life has taken her on as an artist, musician, dancer – and human being who tries to get ahead in this world”.
