Babulfath received a warning after an arm grab and the Japanese received ten points and won the match with 48 kilos 10-0. The 18-year-old Swede was upset and protested in vain to the referee.
There was concern that Babulfath would be dishonored after her strong protests but she made it through and gets a bronze medal match. If she had been washed, there would have been no bronze match. The incident is being investigated in this regard now and the matter has not been decided.

Babulfath received a passivity warning but it was equalized by Tsunoda and both judokas had a warning for the golden score which took place after four minutes. The match ended after 2.55 of overtime and went on for 6.55.
A standing armlock from Babulfath was VAR-reviewed but she was cleared – there it was close to a washout.
