The Ombudsman has made an investigation into the judge’s handling of two cases of custody custody, after legal representatives notified the judge.
“In my opinion, there is reason to take seriously the repeated shortcomings in XX processing that have emerged in the investigation,” writes JO.
The criticism is in one case that the judge was passive in the proceedings, which may have had negative consequences for the child in question. In the second, he is criticized for having made an interim decision on sole custody but not documented it.
“I note that the district court did not notify the Tax Agency of the decision and it is doubtful whether it was enforced at all,” writes JO. The judge only documented the decision after he had been reported to the Ombudsman and himself had stated that the proceedings had been deficient.
The Ombudsman now reports the judge to the State Liability Committee, which will decide on a disciplinary sanction.
SVT is looking for the head of the court, Lars Holmgård.
