Joyrider fled in handcuffs in a police car after causing

In the afternoon the Veenendaler drove at 83 kilometers per hour through the Dorpsstraat in Renswoude, in a Ford Ka that did not belong to him. An officer who saw him driving gave him stop signs with his light box. But instead of stopping, the man accelerated. At 140 kilometers per hour he raced on the provincial road N224 towards Veenendaal. He didn’t care about the red traffic lights at the various intersections he encountered. He drove on the wrong side of the road several times. Oncoming traffic, including another policeman, was shocked to see the small car approaching. They barely managed to avoid a collision by sending their cars reflexively into the tree-lined roadside.
