In his new album, Where are we?, saxophonist Joshua Redman questions his country steeped in contradictions. By adapting works from the popular American repertoire, from Bruce Springsteen to John Coltrane, he attempts to describe the United States as he perceives and feels them. A very talented jazzman, he has within him the cultural heritage of his elders but relies more on his emotions to express his vision of a contemporary America shaken up by its social history of yesterday and today.
