It’s not just millions of sci-fi fans who are looking forward to Dune: Part Two, which will soon be released in cinemas. Star Josh Brolin (Deadpool 2) also can’t wait. He’s so excited about his upcoming film that he retells its story in such a bizarre way in an Instagram post, that it shakes the funny bones of fans.

Josh Brolin teases Dune 2 colleagues: “Robot woman and Wonka fall in love”

In an Instagram message, Brolin commented on the Dune 2 premiere with a synopsis of his own choice of words:

Robot Woman and Wonka fall in love. And then Elvis screws everything up, while his evil daddy swims around in a pool of pond slime. The wrestler guy from Guardians of the Galaxy is totally pissed and the pretty one from Midsommar makes eyes at Wonka-Obi-Wan after his mother is caught taking LSD in a sandy bathroom. Chigurh still can’t stand the guy from The Goonies.

Josh Brolin’s quirky synopsis is full of inside jokes:

  • “Robot woman“ teases Dune 2 star Zendaya, who appeared at the premiere in a very metallic outfit.
  • Wonka says Timothée Chalamet, who recently enjoyed great success with the film Wonka
  • Elvis refers to Brolin’s co-star Austin Butler, who became well known for his role as Elvis. In Dune 2 he plays the son of the tyrant Harkonnen (Stellan Skarsgård), who takes ominous baths for healing purposes.
  • “The wrestler guy from Guardians of the Galaxy“ is ex-wrestler and Marvel star Dave Bautista.
  • With “The pretty one from Midsommar“ Midsommar star Florence Pugh is meant as Dune 2 Princess Irulan, who is interested in Timothée Chalamet’s protagonist Paul Atreides.
  • Atreides’ mother’s LSD useplayed by Rebecca Ferguson, presumably refers to taking the Dune drug Spice.
  • The Enmity between Chigurh and the guy from The Goonies refers to Javier Bardem and Brolin himself, both of whom are at Paul Atreides’ side in Dune 2. The two stars previously appeared together in No Country for Old Men, with Bardem’s hitman Chigurh chasing after Brolin’s character. Brolin played his first major role in The Goonies.

    • Fans really enjoy the way Brolin good-naturedly puts his Dune colleagues through the meat grinder. “Have laughed so hard I woke up my sleeping baby“, someone writes. Another speaks enthusiastically about the “Best film synopsis I’ve ever read“.

    When is Dune 2 coming to cinemas?
