Jesse Joronen saved eight shots in the match, being one of Venezia’s biggest heroes in the away match against Fiorentina. The point was Venezia’s first of the season.
Venezia’s Finnish striker Joel Pohjanpalo was also sidelined for his team’s second league match due to a thigh problem. Pohjanpalo was injured in a practice match played on August 1.
Venezia suffered a 1-3 away loss to Lazio in the opening round of Serie A. Next, the team gets to their home stadium when they face Torino next Friday.
Fiorentina will play for a place in the Conference League on Thursday Mikael Soisalon and Urho Nissilän represented by the Hungarian team against Puskas Akademia. Soisalo scored a goal in the opening match, which ended in a 3–3 score between the teams.
