The living room is homely and cosy, which looked different a hundred years ago. “Back then, this was completely full of sand,” says Joris. The ship dates from 1923, when the Vreeswijk skipper Antonius Pauw used it to transport sand. This space has now been converted into a home. Joris walks through the ship and points. “A regular toilet just like you have, a shower with hot water, a double bed and lots of cupboard space here.”
