Now the game jersey, with the iconic number 23, which the basketball legend wore in the first final game against Utah, has been sold.
The price?
10.1 million dollars, corresponding to over 108 million kroner. According to auction house Sotheby’s, no sports memorabilia worn during a competition or match has sold for a higher amount. It is also a record for a basketball jersey sold at auction.
The previous record was set in May this year when football icon Diego Maradona’s “Hand of God” shirt from the World Cup quarter-final against England in 1986 was sold for SEK 90 million.
