Finnish StarCraft star Joona “Serral” Sotala solved Katowice’s B-block with a clean game. Blocks C and D will be played live in on Friday from 12.50.
One of the best in the world Jonah “Serral” Sotala left nothing to be said about his fitness when the battle for the StarCraft 2 World Championship kicks off in Poland on Thursday. The 23-year-old Finn rolled to victory in IEM Katowice’s B-block with a clean game: five wins from as many matches.
The superiority of Nelonen Sotala on the world list was downright mute. The Zerg player representing ENCE did not lose a map either, as each match ended directly in a 2-0 win.
In the wake of the war, the South Koreans of the block, a weaver on the world list, advanced Park “Dark” Ryung-woo as well as a veteran who survived the qualifiers for the main event Kim “Ryung” Dong-won.
Sotala is so far the only surviving “Foreigner” in the tournament, a non-South Korean player. In Block A, the top four went to the Koreans as they survived Kang “Solar” Min-soo, Lee “Rogue” Yeol and Cho “Dream” Joong-Hyuk.
On Friday, the C and D blocks will be played in Katowice, where, in addition to the Korean tops, e.g. German Gabriel Raffaele “HeRoMaRinE” SegatCanadian Sasha “Scarlett” Hostyn as well as the reigning champion, the Italian Riccardo “Reynor” Romiti.
