Jonson: Risk that the United States will take home soldiers from Europe

There are many indications that the United States will reduce its military presence in Europe, according to Defense Minister Pål Jonson (M).

    – Europe must prepare for a time where you take a much greater responsibility for your own safety, he tells TT.

The message from the United States has shaken. From Trump’s announcement of peace negotiating Ukraine with Vladimir Putin, to the messages of the US Defense Minister that Ukraine should not retain its boundaries and not join NATO.

US Vice President JD Vance did not mention Ukraine in his speech at Munich’s security conference. But in interviews he has said that Europe “obvious” should be involved in all conversations about a war in Ukraine.

On the contrary, US Ukrainian envoy said that Europe will not participate in the talks, according to The Guardian.

Pål Jonson (M) does not rule out that the United States will withdraw soldiers from Europe.

    – The United States is now conducting a review of the military presence in Europe and then it can be reduced its presence, he tells TT.

Today, there are almost 100,000 US soldiers on European soil.
