Jonne Kunnas becomes Linkopings head coach Sports in a

Linköping, one of the top clubs in the Swedish women’s football league Damallsvenskan, will get a Finnish head coach.

Started work as Linköping’s second coach in January 2024 Jonne Kunnas has been promoted to head coach of Linköping, one of the top clubs in the Swedish women’s football league Damallsvenskan.

– I am ready to help the players – both as a team and on an individual level – to get the best performance for the rest of the season. And this does not only apply to the end of the season, it is also the beginning of the foundation on which we will stand in the future, says Kunnas.

Was at the helm of Linköping Rafael Roldán Bermúdez was forced to withdraw due to poor success. The club that was in the Champions League qualifiers is only eighth in the domestic league. They have won only one of their last five matches.

– The sports side is the core of our operations and at this level the results are important both in the short and long term. Everyone involved knows that and wants to take responsibility, even though the decision is not easy. Kunnas previously signed a two-year contract with Linköping, which includes an option for the third year. He works too Marko Saloranta in the coaching team in the women’s national team.
