Jonna Sundling has dominated in the sprint.

The Swede came in a strong fifth place in the 10 km classic during the World Cup in Falun.
During the ski WC 2023 in Planica offered Jonna Sundling on complete dominance in the sprint. The Swede won both WC gold individually and WC gold in the sprint relay after a great display in Slovenia.

It was the third consecutive championship that the 28-year-old won gold in the individual sprint and further proof that she is the world’s best sprinter. But the WC gold hero can also assert himself very well at longer distances.

Sundling fifth
The sprint specialist also started the race at a tremendous pace and quickly moved into the lead. But it would turn out to be very costly because the Swede did not manage to keep up the speed all the way over 10 km and crashed towards the end.

Sundling had to fight hard to fight for the top places and finally finished in a very strong fifth place.
– She does a really, really nice race today. She may have gone out a bit tough today, but that’s her style too. I think it’s very funny to see her hold on so well today, says the TV expert Anna-Karin Strömstedt in Viaplay.

Finnish show
The Finnish woman Kerttu Niskanen was the one who was the strongest in Falun and offered a blue-and-white display to win by far. Behind Niskanen came Norwegian Anne Kjersti Kalvå in second place and third was the German Katharina Hennig.
American World Cup gold hero Jessie Diggins also managed to get ahead of Jonna Sundling in fourth place. But a fifth place for the Swede in a distance competition in the World Cup is extremely impressive.
Also the national team colleague Moa Ilar impressed over 10 km with a fine eighth place.
