Jonna Sundling’s mission alongside cross-country skiing

A new, intense season on the ski slopes awaits Jonna Sundling.
Now she reveals that she has another mission besides sports.
– I was set up by my own partner, she tells Expressen.

She has become one of the world’s best skiers in recent years. In the last three years, she has picked up a total of seven (!) medals from the Olympics and World Championships, and she has also won the last three sprint golds in those championships. Jonna Sundling29, is ready for another season.

The feelings before the WC

It’s a special season to look forward to. The WC will be held in Trondheim at the turn of February-March next year. Many skaters will skip some competitions in order to recharge completely before the championship. So also for Jonna Sundling. The plan is to ride the opening three World Cup races before Christmas, then stand over the Tour de Ski.

– It may not be a big deal, but things can change. I want to compete a lot, but I haven’t decided how I will do the weeks before the WC, she tells Expressen.

She would really like to ride all distances at the WC, but has realized that it would require a lot from her. Both physically and mentally. Instead, the focus may be on the sprint, sprint relay and 10 kilometers. It is not completely decided yet.

Jonna Sundling’s assignment

Her success in recent years has of course resulted in some steals. Last year, her own company made a profit of just over 6 million, of which 3 million in net profit.

She is also involved in another company. Sundling reveals that since last summer she has had a somewhat unexpected side project that has nothing to do with skiing at all. She is a deputy on the board of a law firm in Östersund, where she lives with her boyfriend Anton Olofsson.

– I was set up by my own partner. He is a co-owner and wrote me there. But I don’t really know what I could do there, if I could save it if something happens, she says.

She says that she has no ambitions at all to practice law, at least not in the near future. In the future, it may become relevant.

– Not at the moment. Now I enjoy skiing very well. But we’ll see, maybe something will happen to me later in life!

Good luck with the new season, Jonna! Many of us are keeping our fingers crossed that you have a nice and successful year.

Exciting with your little side project, which you also share with your partner.
