The World Cup premiere in Trondheim can be pure slip track.
Jonna Sundling has impressed greatly on icy ground this winter, but at the same time says before the hunt for the third straight World Cup gold:
– When the skis do not grab, it is very scary. Even dangerous.
On Tuesday morning, the longitudinal tracks were so icy that the Swedish national team felt necessary to move their training from the World Cup arena Granåsen to another ski area nearby.
But regardless of the ground gets Jonna Sundling Carry the favorite in Thursday’s introductory sprint. When Sundling took the SM gold in Borås in early February, she crushed national teammates in that particular company. She won the sprint finals by almost ten seconds of margin.
– It was a great day. But even though I was superior in terms of time, it was a big challenge with the company. It was fatal, says Sundling.
Really she doesn’t want it on Thursday.
– You know what it’s like to drive. When the tires do not grab, then it is scary. And so it was in Borås. I think it is najs to feel safe in skiing and be able to get the skis.
What is scariest?
– The downhill slopes, Sundling responds quickly.
– There is a limit to how icy it may be. The SM in Borås was really on the border. I love when things go fast, I love curves and that things happen. But the skis did not grab and it was very scary. Even dangerous.
Rival Skistad
The main challenger on paper is a Norwegian. Home jump Kristine Stavås Skistad is seen by many as an equally hot candidate for the World Cup gold. Otherwise, as usual, Sundling finds its biggest competitors in his own team.

– It’s extremely impressive. It should almost not be possible, says Anger.
This winter he has also managed to sprint down the Norwegian giant, albeit in a hunting start during the Tour de Ski.
– I showed to myself that it is possible. It is possible to go faster than him.
