Jonna Sundling’s emotional words to the Swedish people after the season – and the beautiful answer: “You are the best”

Jonna Sundling must be extremely proud of her season.
Now the Swede opens up with emotional words about the successful year.
“I’m looking back on a roller coaster for winter,” writes Jonna on Instagram.

It has been an incomparably good skiing year for Jonna Sundling again. She has certainly made a habit of winning the sprint races at major championships and did not disappoint this past season either.

Sundling’s success

Three years in a row, the 28-year-old has now taken home at least one gold medal in the WC or Olympics. In 2021, the Swede won double sprint gold in both individual and relay during the WC, in 2022 it was the individual sprint gold at the Winter Olympics and in 2023 again double WC gold.

She has proven time and time again that she is the world’s best sprinter this winter and the 2023 World Ski Championships in Planica was the big show. When the Swedish team was completely superior in the sprint races and Sundling was the brightest star with double WC gold.

Jonna opens up

Jonna Sundling also achieved her personal best with four World Cup victories during the season, even though she missed many races due to illness during the autumn. She then ended the skiing season in the very best way with the World Cup victory in the sprint relay in Lahtis, Finland, and then also the SM gold in the sprint relay, both times together with the radar partner Emma Ribom.

Now she opens her heart to the Swedish people and talks with emotional words about the season that has been on social media.
“One rollercoaster to winter later, I look back at all the nice peaks that still came. Thank you and hello winter 2022/2023, you have taught me a lot and you became so much better than I had dared to hope for,” she writes on Instagram together with several pictures that may symbolize the year that has been, see them below.

The post has received close to 9,000 likes and a lot of comments from Swedes who want to thank Jonna for this fantastic season, see below.
“Thank you for a fantastic season you have made us happy with and if you can only be with us from the beginning next season it will probably be even better,” writes a user on Instagram.
“Thank you for this season, Jonna! I sincerely hope that you can be injury-free and disease-free for the whole of next season, can’t handle another season where you only participate in half. You are the best, Jonna!”, writes another.
“Beloved child, the best when it comes to everything, proud that I get to be your mother,” even the mother writes Marie Sundling.
