She was superior in the qualifier and continued on the same track until the final.
Once there, Jonna Sundling drove into the finish line first of all. In other words, she won the sprint in the premiere in Bruksvallarna.
– Great fun to be up and running, she says in SVT.
She was the fastest of all in the first sprint qualifier of the year. Jonna Sundling29, braved the cold, twelve minus degrees, in Bruksvallarna and crossed the finish line five seconds ahead of the second Lynn Svahn.
– I feel like Bambi. Not because it was lame, but because it felt unfamiliar. It will probably get better and better, says Sundling to SVT after the qualifier.
Jonna Sundling won by far
In the quarter-finals it was the same way. She won by a three-second margin down to second Moa Lundgren in her heat. The same Lundgren and Linn Svahn also had to see themselves defeated in the first semi-final heat as the winner this time too was Jonna Sundling. Emma Ribom came along to the final. Lundgren’s and Svahn’s times were also enough to reach the final. Maja Dahlqvist and Johanna Hagström was there. It was all skaters who came in the top 6 in the qualifier.
– World class through and through in this starting field, says the commentator Jacob Hard in the broadcast.

In the final, she led from start to finish. Svahn and Ribom challenged, but could not take it. In the end, Sundling finished in 3:02.8, the fastest time of the day. Maja Dahlqvist came second and Johanna Hagström third.
– Jonna Sundling is being declassified, says Jacob Hård in SVT.
– When she has these days, Jonna Sundling, she is fantastic. It’s like no one can meet her when she skis like this. Incredibly impressive opening to this season. So harmonious and confident that the job she has done is right and doesn’t make a bad decision all day, says the expert Anders Blomquist.
Jonna Sundling’s words about the victory
After the victory, Jonna Sundling was of course satisfied with what she had achieved. But it turns out that she was a little nervous before the start.
– Great fun to be up and running. It was very nervous before and I felt that this thing with routines hasn’t really settled, but after today it’s getting more used to being up and running. I’m already looking forward to tomorrow.
– Just this with: “What do I do before a competition? How do I warm up?”. Now that it’s so cold too, there will be a lot of changes. Clothes on, clothes off. There has been a lot of back and forth, because there are many restarts on a sprint day. It will be a lot to think about, but it was fun.

So what was the key to victory today?
– Above all, I feel energetic. Then I have incredibly good skis, a big compliment to the ramps in the wagon at the back. Yes, nice tracks here in Bruksvallarna. It is very wintry and nice, she says and continues:
– I’m grateful to be here in the premiere, it’s not every time I get to be. So I’m enjoying and looking forward to tomorrow.
Big congratulations, Jonna! You are absolutely superb. First win of the season.
