At the top of the world in skiing, there is money to be made.
Jonna Sundling has been successful for several years, and has been able to earn well.
Now the skier reveals everything about his secret investment in Tärnaby – where Ingemar Stenmark and Anja Pärson are from.
During the WC 2021 in Oberstdorf took Jonna Sundling two gold medals, in the sprint and the sprint relay (along with Maja Dahlqvist). With that, Sundling made a real breakthrough internationally, and since then she has been at the top of the world.
Sundling’s successes
The following year, Sundling won three medals during the Olympics. Gold in the sprint, silver in the sprint relay (together with Maja Dalhqvist this time too) and bronze in the relay (together with Maja Dahlqvist, Ebba Andersson and Frida Karlsson). In this year’s WC in Planica, there was also double gold, in the sprint and the sprint relay, that time together with Emma Ribom.

Medals in the biggest championships generate a lot of money and bonuses. The 21/22 season generated a record year for Sundling’s company Jonna Sundling AB in terms of turnover and profit. At the time, she had three million in equity in the company, and collected a dividend of SEK 266,000, according to Expressen. At the end of May 2022, Sundling had SEK 566,000 in securities and SEK 1.8 million in the bank, writes the evening newspaper.
The secret investment
Together with the boyfriend Anton Olofsson Sundling has invested some of this money. Something they already did in 2020, when they bought a 684 square meter plot of land in Tärnaby in Lapland.
Tärnaby is known for good skiing and the upbringing of, among other things, two alpine skiing legends in the form of Anja Pärson and Ingemar Stenmark.
– We bought it several years ago as a fun thing, because Anton and I both come from Västerbotten. But that’s not something we show off. We got an opportunity to buy the plot and felt that Tärnafjällen… it was good, says Sundling to Expressen.

Three years into ownership, the lot is still empty. Jonna and Anton still don’t know what they want to do with it.
– We want to build a cabin, but we want to do that in Trillevallen instead. We love it so much, but there are no requirements so far that we have to build on it, so we’re just saving it a bit. So we have it as a bit of a landowner, says Sundling.
