Stina Nilsson is going to change sports again and start long-distance running.
Now Jonna Sundling gives her honest view on her former teammate’s decision.

Four years ago stunned Stina Nilsson the entire skiing world when she chose to leave cross-country skiing as one of the world’s absolute best sprinters. The Swede had won both World Cup and Olympic gold and lined up loads of World Cup victories, but traded it away for a completely new investment in biathlon.
Sundling’s success
Since the shift of 2020 has Jonna Sundling took over the throne as the new sprint queen and dominated the ski championships. Sundling has won four straight World Cup golds and one Olympic gold in the sprint after Stina left.

While Nilsson has had to fight hard in his new sport for four years. But now the 30-year-old has had enough and last week it was announced that his biathlon career is completely over.
Nilsson’s decision
Instead, Stina Nilsson chooses to change sports again and switch to long-distance running next season. She has already signed a two-year contract with a Norwegian top team.
– I feel that I have reached my potential in biathlon. I have always been fascinated and inspired by long-distance running and the Vasaloppet. When the Aukland brothers with Team Ragde Charge got in touch, I felt “YES”, this is what I would like to do, says Stina herself in a statement.

Now Jonna Sundling gives her honest view on her former teammate’s decision to change sports again.
– I think it will be exciting and I am perhaps not so surprised that Stina is trying something new again. She is the kind of person who gives 110 percent if she takes on something, so it will be fun to follow, says Jonna in an interview with SVT.
