Jonna Sundling and Emma Ribom win the sprint relay in Lahtis after a great performance

Sweden fielded the gold duo Emma Ribom and Jonna Sundling.
And they wouldn’t disappoint in Friday’s sprint relay either.
When the Swedish duo won the World Cup race by far in Lahtis, Finland.

At the ski WC 2023 in Planica, the Swedish star duo showed Jonna Sundling and Emma Ribom the whole world their incredible collaboration. The Swedes won WC gold in the sprint relay and it was also Sundling’s second WC gold after winning the individual sprint as well.

Jonna’s revenge

But the time after the ski WC has been tough for the Swedish part in the sprint part. Jonna Sundling has certainly lined up podium places on an assembly line, but then it has been three consecutive second places after being beaten by the Norwegian Kristine Stavå’s Ski City each time.

On Friday, Sundling got his big revenge at the sprint relay during the World Cup in Lahtis, Finland. Together with the pair horse Ribom, the duo did not disappoint by taking home the baton after a superior display.

Overwhelming victory

The Swedes handled the race perfectly tactically and in the last stretch Jonna Sundling showed her fantastic potential as a sprinter. After hard work from Emma Ribom, Sundling was able to deliver the coup de grace with an early move that paralyzed the competitors.

After that, the race was over and the Swedish finisher, with three consecutive championship golds in the sprint, was able to safely cross the finish line to celebrate another victory together with teammate Ribom. So incredibly well deserved!
