No Swede had done it before – won a gold in wrestling’s U23 WC.
Jonna Malmgren wrote history in Tirana. She won the final against the Mexican Zeltzin Hernandez Guerra on technical superiority.
Earlier this year, Malmgren took the European Championship gold in U23 and later silver in the European Championship. In the Olympics in Paris it was more difficult and she was not close to being able to wrestle for the medals.

A nice end to the championship year still awaited.
She did little as she pleased against Hernandez Guerra in the 55-kilogram class. After 10–0, the match was over and Malmgren could celebrate his and Swedish wrestling’s first gold in an U23 WC.
