Jonathan Cohen is the grandson of a rabbi who loves kung fu movies. Her father is a salesman in perfumery, while her mother worked in a bank. His parents divorced when he was only 5 years old. He then spent his youth with his mother in Pantin, in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis (Île-de-France). However, it was his father who introduced him to the cinema.
