Three weeks before the Tour de France, where he will defend his crown, Jonas Vingegaard sent a resounding warning by crushing the competition at the Critérium du Dauphiné, which he won on Sunday June 11. Arriving second in the last stage, won on the heights of Grenoble by the Italian Giulio Ciccone, the Dane flew over the dress rehearsal of the Grande Boucle (July 1-23) which he won with an unprecedented margin for 28 years. Jonas Vingegaard crushed the plateau, winning two solo stages, including the one on Saturday at the Col de la Croix-de-Fer. Overall, the Jumbo-Visma leader won with a 2 min 23 sec lead over Briton Adam Yates and 2 min 56 sec over Australian Ben O’Connor.
