The reigning double winner of the Tour de France, the Dane Jonas Vingegaard, does not appear in his country’s selection for the Paris Olympic Games. For the road cycling event on August 3, Denmark announced on Saturday June 1 that it would field Mikkel Norsgaard Bjerg, Mads Pedersen, Mattias Skjelmose and Michael Morkov. Vingegaard, 27, is convalescing after the serious collective fall that occurred on April 4 at the Tour of the Basque Country. Victim of fractured ribs and a collarbone as well as lung injuries, the leader of the Visma-Lease a bike team has certainly resumed training but his presence is not yet confirmed on the Grande Boucle, where he hopes defend his title (June 29-July 21).
