And Jonas Bergqvist has already offered the arena’s biggest laugh.
When he offered a perfectly clever joke to Peter Forsberg.
On Thursday evening there is a big party in Avicii Arena when the Swedish Ice Hockey Association celebrates 100 years. The “Hockey Gala of All Time” is to be decided and Swedish hockey’s best player of all time is to be named.
Clever joke
The hockey gala is broadcast on SVT, but even before the TV cameras started filming, the award ceremony managed to sneak off and several awards were handed out earlier in the evening. The Tre Kronor legend Jonas Bergqvist also managed to offer the biggest laugh of the evening when he made the whole arena burst into laughter with the smartest joke.

It was when the award for the “Judge of the Times” was to be handed out that Bergqvist was up on stage and sent a cheeky pass to his old national team colleague Peter Forsberg.
– Yes, Foppa. Do you think it will be Börje Johansson?, says Bergqvist before handing out the award to the best referee.

“Daggen” won
Because “Foppa” was, as everyone knows, “so damn disappointed in Börje” after the SC final loss against Malmö in 1994. Words that have become so incredibly classic in Swedish hockey.
The very award for the judges of the times went to Katarina Hourglass and Dag “Daggen” Olsson.
– Above all, I want to thank my parents who have supported and driven me everywhere, says Timglas in his acceptance speech.
– My father’s form is very disappointing. But when he heard this, he was delighted, says “Daggen’s” son, who was present and received the award.
