47-year-old Jon Dahl Tomasson will be the new national team captain for the men’s national team. This is confirmed by the Swedish Football Association in a press release.

In January revealed the Football Channel that the Swedish Football Association has been in contact with former Malmö FF coach Jon Dahl Tomasson about the vacant job as federation captain – after Janne Andersson – for Sweden’s men’s national team. At the time of that dialogue, the Danish manager was bossing Blackburn Rovers in the Championship.

A little more than two weeks ago, when Tomasson was about to leave Blackburn, the podcast Tuttosvenskan reported that the 47-year-old verbally agreed with SvFF.
