“In a situation where Sweden needs unity and stability, the opposition seeks conflict and division for its own gain. However, we must remember that the security policy situation is the result of the policy the opposition has pursued during its years in power,” writes Jomshof in a comment to TT. He continues: “Instead of questioning whoever defends democracy and freedom of speech against the Islamist forces, maybe it’s time for S, MP, C and V to stop running their errands and take responsibility for the situation they themselves have created.” A united opposition demands that Jomshof leave his post in Sweden’s Riksdag after the, according to them, hateful statements he made about, among other things, the prophet Muhammad. – He spreads hateful messages, has called for book burnings and shares posts where the prime minister is called a wretch, says the Social Democrats’ legal policy spokesperson Ardalan Shekarabi. The opposition has requested a vote on Jomshof’s presidency, which could take place in early September, but to get a majority in the committee, a member from the governing parties needs to change sides.
