The opposition parties S, V, C and MP had demanded a vote on Jomshof’s position as chairman of the justice committee after his high-profile statements about the Prophet Muhammad in connection with the Koran burnings.
However, the parties in the coalition government SD, M, KD and L have a majority in the committee with one vote and they decided not to go ahead with a vote on Jomshof’s position as chairman.
