Johnny Gaudreau’s widow’s heartbreaking words at funeral – reveals the unexpected in emotional speech: ‘A blessing’

Hockey star Johnny Gaudreau and his younger brother Matt were buried Monday in Media, Pennsylvania.

In an emotional speech told then Johnny Gaudreau’s widow Meredith that she is expecting the couple’s third child.

– In less than three years of marriage, we have created a family of five. It doesn’t even sound possible, but I see it as the ultimate blessing. “How lucky I am to be a mother to John’s three children, our newest being a blessing and so special despite these difficult circumstances,” she says.

Hundreds of mourners were on hand to say a final farewell to the brothers. They died after being hit while out cycling in New Jersey in late August, an event that shook the hockey world.

Johnny Gaudreau – nicknamed “Johnny Hockey” – played a total of ten seasons in the NHL, eight with the Calgary Flames before moving to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Gaudreau brothers were 31 and 29 respectively.
