At the helm, the 36-year-old star renewed his rape charges against the 58-year-old actor. She recounted a trip to Australia in 2015 where she said the actor Pirates of the Caribbean hit him repeatedly and raped him.

According to Amber Heard, an argument quickly broke out between the two spouses. She claims, in tears, that Johnny Depp threw bottles and cans at her, grabbed her by the neck and threatened to disfigure her. “I’m against the wall and he’s screaming at me that he hates me, that I ruined his life. He said to me: ‘Fuck, I’m going to kill you'”. Then, the actor would have penetrated him with a bottle. “All I felt was pain,” terrified that the used bottle was broken. According to her, it was during this episode that the actor would have cut his finger, the latter affirms on the contrary that Amber Heard threw a bottle at him and injured him. Amber Heard also described several scenes of violence of which she would have been the victim, accusing Johnny Depp of having been under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

The day before, Amber Heard described at the bar her relationship with Johnny Depp. She claims that he hit and slapped her repeatedly, mad with jealousy and violent because of his addictions to alcohol and drugs. Amber Heard claims that her relationship with the actor deteriorated from 2012. Insults, throwing glass, punching the walls, Johnny Depp’s violence would have resulted, according to her, in physical and sexual violence . As a reminder, Amber Heard filed a complaint against her ex-husband for domestic violence in 2016, before withdrawing it in early 2017 after divorce proceedings were initiated.

And the confrontation between the two ex-spouses is broadcast live from the US. The American channel Court TV is responsible for broadcasting the trial live from Fairfax on its website. Johnny Depp met Amber Heard on the set of the film Rhum Express, released in 2011. The couple married in 2015, before separating in 2016. The actress seen in Aquaman accuses him of domestic violence, which Johnny Depp denies, claiming to have received blows from his ex-wife. In July 2020, a defamation lawsuit pitted the actor against the Sun, which had called the actor a “violent husband”. On November 2, 2020, Johnny Depp lost his lawsuit against the Sun and appealed for judgment. After collecting testimony from the actress and relatives of both parties, Judge Nicol ruled that the words and qualifications used by the Sun in their article were “substantially true”.

After the decision was made, a Sun spokesperson reacted to AFP by stating that “theVictims of domestic violence should never have to be silent”, thanking the judge and the actress “for her courage to testify before the Court”. The lawyers of Amber Heard for their part considered that “this decision and this judgment are not a surprise”, the actress wishing however “to obtain justice” in another procedure which is in progress in the United States. Following this defeat, Warner Bros asked him to withdraw from his role as Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts, which he accepted. However, he continues to maintain his innocence. He is replaced by actor Mads Mikkelsen for the third installment.

Since April 11, 2022, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have been facing off in court in Fairfax, United States.
