Kid (Dev Patel) is a man like a powder keg. After losing his family in a bloody military attack as a child, he took on odd jobs as a young adult. Despised by the rich in his country, he has to fight for money, among other things get beaten up in an underground club. Until it explodes.
As the first trailer for Monkey Man suggests, leading actor and debutant director Patel (The Green Knight) shows the liberated anger of his main character in all its bloody consequences. If The Kid stabs his opponents with broken glass panes, Even John Wick will give him respect.
When is the action hit Monkey Man coming to the cinema?
Monkey Man is supposed to be on April 11, 2024 coming to German cinemas. The film is produced by horror master Jordan Peele (Get Out). As Variety reports, a Netflix release was originally planned.
