John Walter’s father appeals acquittal for HVB domestic workers

The two employees who were present at the home when John Walter slipped out were convicted in the district court of having caused the five-year-old’s death, but were acquitted in early February by the Court of Appeal.

The father, Hans-Erik Sjöholm, claims in the appeal to the Supreme Court that the two employees should be sentenced for grossly causing the death of another. He has previously requested that the Attorney General review the case to find out if there may be others responsible for the boy’s death.

It will now be up to the Supreme Court to decide whether the case should be granted leave to appeal or not.
