John and Sanna Guidetti met when they were only 12 years old. A friendship soon became something more, and since they were 16 they have been together.
– I was his wingman! Tells Sanna in After five tonight.
When John’s career took off, they got to follow football and together they have lived abroad for almost half their lives. The couple and their children have lived in Scotland, Germany, England, Holland and Spain, but last autumn they moved back home to Sweden when John started playing football for AIK.
– He has had big dreams, so we have worked for it together, says Sanna.
But she also says that it has been tough and sometimes lonely for her to live life as a soccer wife. Over the years, things have gotten better, thanks in large part to the strong bond and security the couple has with each other.
– I have been lucky enough to not only meet the love of my life, but also my best friend, says John. We have made this journey together, my successes are hers and hers are mine. It takes a team to succeed!
