Johan Floderu’s father about the relief – his son can come home

In exchange for life sentence Hamid Noury, the EU official Johan Floderus, together with the Swede Saeed Azizi, can come home to Sweden again.

– In a few hours, two Swedish citizens who have endured hell on earth will land. Their families can be reunited, says the Prime Minister in one video message on X.

P4 Gothenburg has been in contact with Johan’s father Matts Floderus.

– It feels better than yesterday, he says to the radio.

TT has also contacted Matts Floderus, who says that the family does not want to comment yet.

– But we are terribly happy, of course, he says.

The government holds a press conference

But one Swede is still in the infamous Evin prison – Ahmadreza Djalali, father of two and researcher at the Karolinska Institutet. He was imprisoned in 2016 and sentenced to death the following year for “corruption on earth”.

When TT reaches Ahmadreza Djalali’s wife, Vida Mehrannia, she is distraught that her husband was not included in the swap.

– I have no other words to describe it with than discrimination, she tells the news agency.

At 10.30 pm tonight, the government is holding a press conference on the occasion of the prisoner exchange.

Participating are Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tobias Billström.
