After the active career, Joel Lundqvist became an expert in TV4 Play.
Now he pays tribute to his colleague Lasse Granqvist, whom he holds in the highest regard.
“Nice to get guidance from the best in the industry,” he writes on Instagram.
He broke through in Frölunda together with his twin brother Henrikthen it was off to North America for a little adventure with the Dallas Stars. After only three years turned Joel Lundqvist42, back home to play another 14 seasons with Frölunda. He is strongly associated with the club and it is not for nothing that he is called the “Captain of the Captains” in SHL hockey.
Tributes to Lasse with a picture
After the 2022/2023 season, the fun was over. Joel Lundqvist announced that he would end his successful career that has brought him four SM gold and four CHL titles with FHC and three WC gold with Tre Kronor.
Just a few months after leaving the Swedish top league, Joel made his comeback – as a TV expert in TV4 Play. He has now already had time to comment on a whole season and now it’s time again.
During the Thursday evening, Joel Lundqvist was on duty in Gävle (for the match Brynäs-Leksand) together with a really experienced fox, Lasse Granqvist56. He is considered to be one of Sweden’s best sports commentators. Joel agrees with that.

“Åke Unger last week in Malmö, Lasse Granqvist tonight here in Gävle. Great to be guided by the best in the industry!”, he writes on Instagram.
Everyone agrees with Joel Lundqvist
He gets the support of many followers. Lasse has, just like Joel, a large fan base. Many consider Granqvist to be the foremost in his guild.
“King Lasse!”, comments one person.
“Two kings,” writes another.
“The best!”, someone thinks.
“Dream team”, observes a fourth.
