Joe Biden is building a new section of the wall between Mexico and the United States

The American wall on the border with Mexico is to be expanded.
Joe Biden’s administration left that message on Thursday – despite the president promising not to spend any money on the border barriers.
– I can’t stop it, he says.
“I was right,” writes ex-president Donald Trump about the news.

Joe Biden’s administration announced on Thursday that a new section of the wall on the border with Mexico will be built. The new section is to be built in the Rio Grande Valley sector of the US-Mexico border, reports AFP, citing a statement by Alejandro Mayorkas, Minister of Homeland Security.

“There is an urgent and immediate need to build physical barriers and roads near the US border to prevent illegal entry,” he says in a comment.

Recently, over 245,000 people have illegally crossed the border, according to the news agency.

Biden reverses the promise

When Joe Biden won the presidential election, he promised that no tax money would go to building a wall against Mexico.

– Building a massive wall that stretches across the entire southern border is not serious politics, he said at the time.

The new section of the wall will be financed with the help of money that was added by congressional decision back in 2019, when Donald Trump was president of the country. During Thursday, Joe Biden said that he has not been able to stop the funding even though he wanted to redirect the money to other purposes.

This is because the money has been earmarked specifically for physical border barriers – which by law means that the money must be used.

– I can’t stop it, Biden reportedly says CNN.

Trump’s dick: “I was right”

The president was also asked if he thinks the border wall is working.

– No, he answered.

Former President Donald Trump, who had the wall against Mexico high on his political agenda, has reacted to today’s announcement. He writes, among other things, that he “was right” when he made the decision to build the wall.

“Will Joe Biden apologize to me and the United States for taking so long to get started, and allow our country to be flooded with 15 million illegal immigrants,” he writes on his own social media platform Truth Social.
