In his speech at the climate conference COP27 in Egypt, US President Joe Biden promised that the country will reach its climate goal by 2030.
– The climate crisis is about the survival of our planet, he says.
In his hotly anticipated speech in Sharm el-Sheikh, Biden apologized, among other things, for his predecessor in the presidency, Donald Trump, and the decision to leave the so-called Paris Agreement, which the country rejoined when Biden formed a government.
– I apologize for leaving it in the first place, says Biden to applause from the world leaders on site.
Biden emphasized that the climate has always been high on his agenda and highlighted the historically large climate package that the US Congress approved this summer.
