For some athletes, it is impossible to compete in the Olympic Games without spiritual support. Practicing a religion can be central to an athlete’s preparation or well-being. In the Olympic Village, in Seine-Saint-Denis, north of Paris, a multi-faith center has been set up. It has been part of the specifications of the Olympic and Paralympic Games since the 1972 edition in Munich. Athletes and their delegations find a spiritual welcome and a place of peace there, before or after an event.
