The president of the Olympic Games-2024 organizing committee Tony Estanguet, positive for Covid-19, will not travel to Beijing for the 2022 Olympic Games, Paris-2024 announced on Monday to AFP.
Estanguet, who suffers from “mild symptoms” according to the organizing committee, was to come to the Chinese capital during the first part of the OJ-2022, which begins on Friday.
According to Paris-2024, the director general of the organizing committee Etienne Thobois could travel to observe the progress of these Games with a reduced team.
Last summer, Tony Estanguet went to Tokyo for the Summer Olympics, postponed for a year, from 2020 to 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
