JK: No compensation after vaccine

The state is not liable for damages to the people who suffered from narcolepsy after taking the vaccine against the swine flu in 2009. That is what the Chancellor of Justice states, according to Dagens Juridik.

Around 500 people affected by narcolepsy and 1,500 of their relatives demanded a total of SEK 363 million in damages in a report against the state to the Chancellor of Justice (JK).

But the claim for damages has been rejected. JK believes, among other things, that there was no obligation for the state to inform about the then unknown increased risk of suffering from narcolepsy.
