On Friday evening, Jimmie Åkesson (SD) directed sharp criticism at Magdalena Andersson (S) via a post on X.
The SD leader believes that the party leader of the Social Democrats defended the Riksdag member Jamal El-Haj, who earlier in the day was asked to leave his post.
“This is not how you behave as a party leader,” writes Åkesson.
The news that the Social Democrats’ district in Skåne is calling on MP Jamal El-Haj to leave his duties came at a press conference on Friday.
– I have full confidence in Skåne’s party district’s decision and assume that the call will be heeded, says Magdalena Andersson to TV4 Nyheterna on Friday.
In the past, Andersson has defended El-Haj. Among other things, after Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) made a statement that there was a “terror romance” within the Social Democrats.
Åkesson’s criticism of Andersson
On Friday evening, SD leader Jimmie Åkesson attacked Andersson and the Social Democrats. It is via a post on X that Åkesson directs sharp criticism and writes, among other things, that you cannot behave like Andersson when you are party leader.
“Lie to yourself for several months to save an Islamist, and then yourself ask him to leave. You know as well as anyone that your party is completely screwed with Islamists. If you’re going to put this kind of energy into every single one, you’ll have to do it until long after retirement,” writes Åkesson.
SD: Doubles against the Swedes
He also adds that Andersson and the party cannot escape the fact that they are “an active part of the Islamist movement in Sweden”.
“Jamal El-Haj is not the first and, unfortunately, far from the last social democrat with clear connections to Islam,” writes Åkesson.
The SD leader writes that his party will not “spare efforts when it comes to exposing your double game towards the Swedes.” Furthermore, Islamists must “get out of the corridors of power” and “at best out of our country”.
Responds to Åkesson’s criticism
Mirjam Kontio, press secretary for Andersson, did not wait long before she hit back against Åkesson’s criticism of X:
“Jimmie Åkesson, let me be clear, we social democrats will spare no effort when it comes to exposing your double game against the Swedes”, and also links to a post that highlights that fuel prices are higher today compared to New Year’s.
