Jimmie Åkesson: After the next election, SD will be the opposition party or the government party

In the speech, he says that the party will work to become Sweden’s largest party where they will either be the government party or the opposition party after the 2026 election.

– The Tidö agreement is like silver tape, it works great temporarily, to solve a problem, he says.

He also focuses a lot on the Koran burnings that took place in Sweden. Among other things, he mentions that the Danish government put forward a proposal on Friday to ban Koran burnings in public places.

– In Sweden, some politicians are on the same dangerous, cowardly and creeping track.

Critical to changes in the law

The Swedish government has previously announced that they are appointing an inquiry to review the ordinance.

Jimmie Åkesson says that he is critical of considering changes to the law as it is a concession to hate and threats, and restricts freedom of expression. He believes that there is no reason for a ban and that it would make no difference.

– We must never give in to blackmail, he says.

“Arena for international conflicts”

He also believes that Sweden has become an “arena for international conflicts”. One of several examples that he brings up is earlier this summer when regime-critical Eritreans stormed a cultural festival that was criticized for being loyal to the regime.

– It is a direct consequence of decades of mismanagement, with so-called multiculturalism, lax politics and severe, pathological naivety.

He also moves on to address the policies the party has pushed through. Among other things, that electricity production should go from consisting of 100 percent “renewable” energy to “fossil-free” energy, where he promotes nuclear power. He also mentions that the Sweden Democrats have pushed to lower the reduction obligation.
