Jewish Congregation: Do not speak Hebrew openly

“We urge everyone to leave Jewish symbols at home, such as Stars of David and kippahs for example,” reads part of the email.

Hebrew speakers are asked not to speak the language in public – citing that there have “already been incidents in other Swedish cities due to the above”.

The congregation writes that there is reason to believe that the situation will worsen in the coming days.

Allan Stutzinsky, the assembly’s chairman, says that a security group and a crisis and disaster group are behind the assessment.

— They judge that the threat picture is worse than it usually is when things are troubled in Israel. Among other things, it concerns statements in social media, about people who express themselves directly threateningly in connection with statements such as “Hitler didn’t finish the job”, says Stutzinsky to the newspaper.
