While the hype surrounding In the Waters of the Seine is slowly dying down, Netflix is unpacking the next film highlight, which Action and excitement in a nerve-racking thriller. Trigger Warning is the title of the new blockbuster that you can now watch on the streaming service. Jessica Alba plays the lead role.
Alba has been a rare sight in recent years. She is an indispensable part of the cinema of the 2000s thanks to films such as Honey, Sin City and Fantastic Four. Most recently she was on television in the crime series LA’s Finest, which was a spin-off of the Bad Boys series. Now she has her big Netflix moment.
Trigger Warning on Netflix: Jessica Alba embarks on a bloody campaign of revenge
In Trigger Warning, Alba takes on the role of elite soldier Parker, who returns to her homeland after many years. The reason is a sad one: the Death of her fatherIt doesn’t take long for Parker to discover several inconsistencies that call into question whether her father actually died of natural causes.

She then sets out to search for clues and soon finds herself in a web of lies and betrayal. Senator Swann (Anthony Michael Hall) is a particular thorn in her side. What complicates matters is that one of his sons, Jesse (Mark Webber), is Parker’s ex-boyfriend. The whole family seems to be hiding something from her.
Trigger Warning doesn’t waste any time. The 106-minute action smash unleashes Alba as merciless avenging angelwho fights his way through the area without regard for the consequences. Even if the story doesn’t win any prizes for originality, the film convinces with a strong leading actress and plenty of action.

The film has been haunting Hollywood for a while. Deadline reported in 2016 that the production company Thunder Roads Film had secured the rights to the script by John Brancato (The Game) and Josh Olson (A History of Violence). In the end, however, move into the country for a few yearsuntil the project became concrete.
In 2020, Netflix stepped in and hired Indonesian director Mouly Surya, who had previously caused a stir with the thriller Marlina. Halley Wegryn Gross (The Last of Us: Part II) was also brought on board to rework the script before 2021 the first shot fell.
Since its announcement seven years ago, Trigger Warning has been compared to Rambo and John Wick – a Veteran on a quest for revengeLast but not least, John Wick producer Basil Iwanyk is also involved in the production.
